Raced an 8.1L
Well this was my first real race against anything. The only reason it happened is because my friend that just bought a GMC SRW 3500 quad cab/long bed 8.1/Allison was in the other lane. I pulled up beside him at the red light. I turned green and we were off. Shifting the old 4500 against the auto made it closer then I liked. That and my racing skills relating to shifting and such are pretty horrible along with the clutch slipping which was probably my fault. Through first and second we were even. Once I hit third gear I left him behind. I was in the left lane. Behind him in the right lane was this poor smoke covered H2. That was the best part!! As far as my friend he took it well saying that he had it to the floor. Boy do I like my truck. Can't wait until I get my new turbo.
