Anyone know about the planned 72 hour shutdown?
I was driving back from Missouri last week and heard several commercial truck drivers talking about a 72 hour shutdown to protest high fuel prices. The shutdown is set for October 31, starting at midnight. I heard about it in Tulsa, from a driver who heard about it in Chicago, and also said people were passing out flyers at a truckstop in Joplin, MO. Their main concern was that the company drivers had no incentive to participate, and that it might go bust. If anyone has any other info on this I'd be interested, but even if you don't you might pass the information around to those who driver professionally.
