Selling truck tomorrow
My 99 is going in. The BMW (bike) dealer I work at, well the owners also own the Land Rover new/used dealer next to us. I am going to take it in tomorrow and see what I can get for it.
I am still curious what I should ask for it. I owe $10,000. I would be happy to get that and break even but should I ask more?
*99 4x4 2500
*5-speed, 3.54s
*reg cab, long bed
*camper package
*brand new Cummins LP
*bed rail caps/tailgate cap
*tires 285/75/16s on stock 6.5" wheels, 50% tread
*BHAF/straight pipe, SS tip
*130,000 miles
*Cummins Power badges, worth $1000 (HA!)
Problems:
*VP44 dying but still driveable (216 code)
*front rotors slightly warped
*leaking PS pump seal
*cracked windshield with beauty mark (8 inch target shaped crack which would have opened up and let the rock hit me in the head if the rock came through)
*oil pressure sender dead
*and last but not least, the pits, scratches, dents, dings associated with a 6 year old truck which worked for most those years hauling "stuff"
Now, like I said, give me $10,000 and I walk away owing nothing, but with no extra. Ask for $11,000 or $12,000, I make a profit.
Only thing really going for me is that I want the bike from BMW, the sales managers know eachother, and if they really want to make a sale on a bike, then they may work with me. Plus, get all the BS fixed on my truck, and they could resell it at a profit, i.e., more profit then they would on a bike...
Thanks, Nick
