Dad was pretty smart

As I read all the posts here regarding larger exhausts,less restrictive intakes,larger turbos and more fuel, I recall my Dad telling me years ago. "An internal combustion engine is nothing more than a gas or diesel fired air pump whose energy we happen to harness to move a vehicle. Make the air pumping process as efficient as possible and you'll go faster."
He was pretty smart and I miss him alot. Steve
