02 Dakota help needed w/ truck...

Hey folks,

I just picked up a 02 Dakota QC for my wife. It replaces her beloved 98 Jeep Cherokee, and she's a little hesitant to fall in love with the replacement.
And guess what, the tranny's acting funny on the new truck. You guys ever get that "I Told You So" feel- it's not even the look, it's just in the air! LOL

Anyways, the trans has a really rough shift from 2nd into 3rd when you shift gently. It's fine when you shift under load. Any ideas? The truck is bought & the bank's got the title for a few more years- so I need to make this work.
