siamesed bores in 6.7 ??

just looking at the new TDR mag and a article on the 3500 chassis. Page #35 says the bores are siamesed [bores cast together with no water passages between them]. Is this practice used in other MD or HD diesel engines ?? Comments ?? ...............JIM
