Toyota salesman talking smack about Cummins
While I was test driving a Tundra with my dad tonite, a 2nd gen 3500 pulled up next to us at a red light. I said, "oooo... cummins, nice." The salesman commented that cummins is being pushed off "the totem pole". I asked how is that. He started comparing towing capacity and power. I fired back with "they (chevy, dodge, ford) can all tow but a cummins will have a better chance of getting you to your destination." He got quiet after that.
So far I know of a few duramax owners that have had problems, and a few powerjoke owners that have had major problems. A buddy of mine has a 7.3 and is on is 5th transmission. My cousin is on his 3rd turbo in 27,000 miles on is 6.0!
I have 156,000 miles on my modified cummins and still going strong.
