"Burned out" EGT gauge???

I recently sold my juice w/attitude so I'm back to having only one EGT gauge again. I don't trust it anymore. It reads sooooo much hotter than the attitude did I almost ignore it. Is there a simple way I can test it? I've asked before, but nobody had any practical way to test it.

Has anyone ever had a gauge/probe go bad?
