Erratic Automatic shifting

I read several articles in TDR on the cause and cure of erratic shifting. After experiencing it for several months I discovered the cure at least for me. It was the batteries. After replacing them the problem disappeared. Could it be that weak batteries is the main culprit. I only post this problem so that other drivers experiencing this problem might want to have the batteries checked to see if they are up to specs. It worked for me.
