BMW Says 3.0L Twin-Turbo Diesel U.S.-Bound

E-mailed with the local dealer who said the 3.0L INLINE 6

will be available later this year, as a 2009 model in the car and SUV in USA! I love that BMW still uses high torque inline 6 engines (gas and diesel), whereas Mercedes has gone to V-6's for gas and diesel.
Check out the torque numbers for the 3 liter turbo diesel versus the 3 liter turbo gasser! 127 MORE ft/lbs of torque, only 14 less horsepower and 15 more miles per gallon! Why have we not seen this SOONER!? This is NOT a new engine. Has been in Europe for years! ULSD is here, bring on the diesels! No more excuses greenies, it says this thing is 99% clean, approaching a zero emission vehicle! Can your hybrid pos claim that??
