Post whos got the best trucks?

when we first started our business in '85 we had an old chevy 454 four door that pulled and ran like a champ. after 100,000 miles it got more and more troublesome. the boss, whos a ford man, decided to order two four door ford diesels after that. this was before the powerstroke days and i still remember one was had a diesel badge while the other one had a turbo diesel badge. since then, weve been through five more ford diesels and to say that they were trouble free would be a lie. always something , every week, but mostly transmission problems. we introduced the dodge ctd's in 1990 and again transmission problems bit us after 100. 000. weve never had an engine failure in any of our diesel trucks, but i have to say that the weak point of all of these one tons has been the drivetrain and tranny that is subjected to all of the torque that is being sold to the public as a good thing. the problem with the fords and chevys, im afraid is that they dont have the guts to support their engine. even up to the 550 level of psd's after about 25000 miles they start to shudder and shake and seem like they are about to fall apart. as far as today, the only reason that we dont have 100 % dodges is that there are no four door duallys available. these new 2001 ho 6 speeds are imho the best pickup lb for lb thats out there. if someone doesnt agree, i can understand , by the way we still have the chevy[no telling how many miles, but three engine rebuilds, and the ctd , first gen, 453000 miles and one tranny rebuild] that tells me all that i need to know
