Impressed by Dmax in Tug-O-War, until...

Yesterday Galloways 4wheel Drive had their 44th 4x4 show in New London, NC.

It's a small event but has alot of 3/4-1 ton trucks.

The Tug-O-War is the main competition event there and there were quite a few Super-Duties, 2 Dmax's, gas powered trucks and 2 Cummins Dodges.

The Galloway Truck called the "Log Hawg" beat the pants off of every body until it's T-case broke. The truck that dominated all day long was a 2500 CC short box DMax w/ Allison, that is until a guy with a 2500Sport Cummins w/ 5-Speed showed up and embarrassed the DMax pretty bad 3 outa 4 pulls (Dmax got'em the first pull). The beauty of it was that both the DMax and the Cummins had the exact same tires (35" BFG All-Terrains) and the guy in the Cummins was a pro at working the clutch, to everybody's amazement.

The other Cummins was a 3500 QC w/5-speed but the stock tires was his weak point. He even had the guy that drove the Sport, drive his 3500 since he was so good working the clutch, but the DMax pulled it 3 times with ease.

Word around the grounds was that only 2 Super-Duties entered the event but withdrew after seeing the DMax dominate for most of the day.

Had a good time and gained some respect for the DMax. It's pretty tough, but I will never have as much respect as I have for the Mighty Cummins and the guy driving that 5-speed.
