Wimpy GM 4x4 tie rods

Went to a tractor truck pull last weekend and saw a new 2002 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy gasser pull and break. He had 1200# of weights on the front bumper and near the end of the track it bounced a couple of times, and the tie rods both bent. The wheels went to the stops both steering inward and the left cv exploded. When I went to look later i was shocked by the 1/2" rod for tie rods. Both were bent like spagetti. When shopping for your new 4x4 maxipad check the front end out!!
