Lots of good info today: Might be able to borrow 5" dies from the big rig shop (to use at the local muffler shop).
Another local guy that I know turns out to be a master diesel tech (and racer)--who knew?.
There's a Power Edge etc. dealer 30 miles from here.

And I'm really holding my breath on this on--there may be someone who can manipulate the ECM around the corner. This last one will have to remain my little secret--so nobody gets killed.
