BOMBED Mercedes?

Has anyone increased the hp on a Mercedes? I'm looking at a 1998 E300D but it only has 134hp & 155lbs. torque. Now what's up with that? I always thought that diesels have lots of torque compared to hp.
Anyway, looking for a way to increase hp besides just a K&N & bigger exhaust.
