Diesel in 2nd gen Durango

At the L.A. Auto show my wife encountered a lady in the Dodge area that said the Durango would be getting larger; Suburban size larger! I blew it off as I didn't get a chance to pick this person brain. However when I went to Phoenix, Az., some friends there mentioned the same thing from their auto show the week before.
TWO questions:
Is Dodge finally going to make a FULL-size SUV?
If yes, will they beat GM to the punch and put the diesel in it?

My wife wants an Excursion, I hate to say it, being a Mopar guy and all, but the closest I'd get is the Suburban, and I hate GM. But a Dodge built behemoth makes my mouth water. Her '85 is starting to show its' age and I've warned her I'll put the new Hemi in it when the '94 360 gives up. (I really don't look forward to having to fulfill that threat) Any info will be greatly appreciated.
