farm fuel

I live on a farm and keep a 500 gallon tank of purple farm diesel for my tractors. In the event that I wanted to use some of this in my truck for off highway farm use would this fuel cause any harm to the truck. Ive heard that its the same other then the purple color for non tax use and Ive also heard it is a different formula with more sulfur???
