Diesel fuel prices $$$$$$$

Hi one and all, just wanted to know what the price for diesel is around the country. Here in New York the prices have really jumped, the cheapest I have found is $1.93 and have seen it up to $2.17 a gallon. It is very sad since a gallon of reg gas goes for around $1.73. Why is the diesel so much more, it was normally cheaper than gas?
