Shredded tire = major $
Here's one for you dually owners. (suppose it could apply to all our trucks)
My brother has a 95 DC dually. Was headed from Phoenix down to Tucson last week and had a tire come apart. There was still lots of tread left, just got tired of the constant heat I guess.
When it shredded, one of the pieces flew into the spare tire winch cable and broke the winch setup. the spare dropped and got caught under the truck. This caused it to flip and it threw the rear of the truck up in the air almost 3'. The shredded tire also tore up the fender, the bed, the bed support, the rear bumper, along with some other stuff.
Bottom line - $5500 to get it fixed plus the insurance adjuster said there was some things he couldn't see that may also be damaged.
Keep an eye on those tires!
