How do I Identify A "Triple Nickel" 555 CTD

My friend owns A small towing company with 5 different tow wreckers.. His big "Super Yogi " semi tractor wrecker is A 1979 model I.H. , and he suspects that it is A " Triple Nickel " 555 Cummins under the hood .. How can I identify this motor correctly ? I haven't had A chance to go look at it yet..
