Calling Old School Diesel Nuts... '91 phurd 7.3???'s

I hate even asking about this, but I don't know where else to begin my search. A neighbor is wanting to help his OLD '91 phurd 7.3 NON-Turbo. All he is really wanting is a little more umph when towing his little goosenecks horse trailers. He is not wanting a powerhouse (who can blame him with that truck). But I told him I would start looking around what his options may be, and this to me is the most logical place. So my questions are, what can be done, and where to go to find those things?
