so my friend ordered an 04 F550 with 6.0

so he told me last saturday.

i work for him part time on saturdays doing truck and loader maintainence. he has good history with the fords. he bought a new 550 in 99 and another 550 in 2000. both equipped with the 7.3, auto and 10 ft dump bodies. they are used mostly in summer hauling top soil, mulch, rocks and other landscaping materials. he just sold the 99 with around 70,000 miles because he was offered the right price. everything he owns is for sale at the right price.

SO, the real question is, how do i prepare him for all the potential problems he could have with the new engine. i started to tell him about the injector problems, turbo problems, ECM reflash problems and then thought to myself -- i better stop. as it was, i scared him enough, that he made a few phone calls to check with the service manager at the ford truck dealer to see "what he knew".

he really has no choice of brands in this size class and the 2000 is a dream to drive. so do i shut up and wait to see what happens, or should i start following the "furd" boards to see what i will be working on within the next few years???
