Assistance needed by Caterpillar mechanics
I just acquired a 1973 model 930 wheel loader, this afternoon. I took it for a test run. It is a very noisy mach., and I did not hear the low air buzzer while running it. However, when I went to shut it down, I heard the buzzer. I looked at the air guage, and saw it had 90 psi. which is what it had all the while I was running it. The buzzer was not as loud as when the air is at zero, but nonetheless still on. I then put it in gear, and made it go, then popped it in neutral and let it coast to a stop. You could tell that the brakes were holding ever so lightly. I then got out and touched the rotors. The fronts were to hot to touch, but the back ones were cool.
My question is....... What do I look for for a possible fix for this situation? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA
BTW, I had the park break knob pushed in while running it
