I just want to say that I thought the Rally was a great success. We had about 90+ trucks turn out for the even and about 150 attendes. If you missed it, then make plans for the next one, you won't regret it!
The day started out with a great breakfast put on by the campsite for a very small price. Then we got right on to into the seminars. Joe Donnely and Piers were the guest speakers. They covered everything from the 12 valves mods and problems to the newer 24 valve trucks and their ways to get more HP from them. A great question and awswer forum was then presented that covered just about all areas. We actually had to cut those guys short, in order for Bill Kondolay to be able to speak about the wonders of the automatic tranny. Then it was time for lunch put on by the LSTDR. I personally can't remember eating a better burger... er that is except mine. Ha Ha We then went into the thing that everyone was waiting for the door prizes!! Donations from vendors solicited by Curtis Harris (Gitchesum) were given out. We had over 30 prizes that amounted to approximately $2500.00, most everyone came away with something and if you didn't then there is always next year which we are already working on. Prizes ranged from gift certificates to a set of injectors to mugs and caps. After that at about 3:00 we took a drive around the country for about and hour or so. It was a real site seeing 75 or so turbodiesel trucks rambling their way through the hills(mountians to some of us!)and through the town. That was the end of the first days schedule. Later that nite I heard that Hydraulic Bill was helping Rowdy do an injector swap, and you know what happened then.
Sunday-
Started off with breakfast again, then it was off to A-1 Transmissions for the rebuild and seminar! I know first hand that Bill builds a great tranny because it was mine that he did for the demo. It did make me a bit nervous though just thinking about what might go wrong! I do have to get back home...But nothing did. The demo was very informing for those of us who have never gone through a transmission before and seen the actual internal workings, and the hows and whys this does what it does and why it does it. I must say that the tranny does put a lot more HP to the ground now than it ever had before, it evens gives up rubber on the second gear shift! That was it for the day except for some local bench racing and engine BOMBing mine included.

Next year will be even bigger and better than this year, I'll have to get Curtis started earlier though, maybe tomorrow???
