I still don't know why the Boerne Event in October cancelled
but here is our (your) chance to help organize a get together for the Fall.
At the Houston Meeting #2, Jeff Clark and I talked about getting the DFW and Houston Chapters together for a monthly meeting somewhere in between with Madisonville being the most likely spot. After the Boerne cancellation, Randy J from San Antonio jumped in and told us that they wanted to help so the three of us are working this together.
The Place -- Temple, Texas
I looked at a state map today and Temple appears to be equal distance between DFW, SA and Houston. I see two different lakes near Temple and I expect there may be picnic areas available for the gathering. If you know the area or live near Temple we need some feedback.
The Time -- Saturday, September 23
I realized not long ago that October 7 is either the first or second weekend of bow season and probably not the best weekend to plan a follow up event. October is just as likely as September to be 95deg in Texas so this should not be a big deal. Getting away from the Gulf Coast sauna for a day would be great from my perspective.
The Menu -- ???
We can cook it on site, have it catered, bring your own, or potluck it.
The Itinerary -- ???
Whatever ya'll want to do.
I plan to get a headcount at a later date; this thread however, is geared toward planning and organization of the event.
Feedback is welcome and needed but please keep the "me too's" to a minimum until we call for a headcount.
Everyone will be welcome including Non-TDR members who may be lurking. If your one of those characters dig the change out from under the couch cushions, turn in a few coke bottles and send TDR 35.00 bucks
