Need rim width advice

I am looking at getting the Weld Evo Velociti wheels. I am going to put 35's on them. What would be better, 17 x 10 or 17 x 8.5. Also what does 4.5" backspacing mean. I will be putting a Kore Chase suspension on my truck. Will this backspacing work without rubbing? The tires will be Nitto Mud Grapplers 35 x 12.5 x 17.
