Performance Mods for Off Road
Anybody have input of the effects that performance mods have on controllability during offroading? I'm talking about light throttle/no throttle operation while crossing obstacles. I found out that you don't just hit the brake while crossing a ditch because the governor will increase the fuel to keep the idle rpm up. I had to learn to depress the clutch and then feather it back in to avoid bounding through the ditch. In addition, my ETH/DEE torque will spin the tires in slow going. Do the performance mods like injectors and boxes make this situation worse? I see a lot of threads about towing and racing but not too much about actual off road use. I bought my truck because it will get me 400 miles down the highway in comfort and still get me to my hunting areas. It just excels at this.
