regarding ford boy

A buddy of mine has a Ford Powerheartstroke and has developed a problem. Its an 01 7.3 It seems that during the period of his last two oil changes he has developed a miss in the engine. He changed oil from chevron delo to shell rottela. He changes oil every 7000 kilometres (and filter) and i was inquireing for him if this could be a possible problem.
