VW diesel to Toyota

i was watching Power block's Xtreme 4x4 today, and they swapped the gasser motor out of a Suzuki Samurai to a VW TD.. that sparked my interest to see if maybe there are any adapter kits for the VW diesel engine to fit an 85 Toyota truck.. does anyone know if there is one out there? or am i pretty much stuck with the gasser? id love to stick a small diesel engine like that in it for the torque and the fuel mileage.. the gasser in it only gets like 16 on the road, and id love for it to get over 20 miles to the gallon so i can start driving it instead of my fuel hog, lol... i love my Cummins, but dang it gets bad mileage!
