Maybe I just don`t understand,but..........

I thought the FDA & Ag dept. folks were supposed to HELP us. I work for a Beet Sugar processing plant, & today we were told that 1 of our 4 facilities will shut down in the near future. Something about the various "free trade" agreements that have cut the amount of sugar we can sell by like 20% next year. What kind of deal is it to cut us back to allow more import sugar in? The worst of it is, Mexico has increased it`s exports to us by 100% without growing any more cane. Can you say Cuba? They`re buying an embargo`d product ,reselling it to us, and making a huge profit in the process. Are we stupid, or what? I don`t know what to think on this one. Both parties are involved here, not left or right. If the bumping process hits me, I am not gonna be happy. 48 is too old for that job hunting thing. DK.
