Saw on the news yesterday that more politicos are going to follow the Oklahoma example of making over-the-counter cold medicines that contain pseudoephedrine a "pharmacist sales only" item. Why? Because druggies use them to make meth or such.
This is an interesting response. At work, once upon a time we could get laboratory glassware at a moment's notice. Now, they actually inventory and control all the graduated cylinders and beakers and such because of all the attention focused on drug labs out there, so if you find a Pyrex beaker you are nowadays as thrilled as if you have discovered a new element.
No doubt the politicians will turn their attention to other things that the evil druggies use, and strictly control them in an effort to make the drug bidness more difficult. They use lots of common chemicals like alcohol, cleaners, baking soda; stoves to cook them on; and of course trucks and cars to transport them - LET'S REGULATE 'EM ALL MORE TIGHTLY
Also heard on the news that currently the second most popular crime in the WORLD is SLAVERY - a whole industry has sprung up around the world to abduct people and supply them for forced work. Apparently a major component of this is traffic in young women abducted for use in the sex industry, an article I read said that a typical brothel owner in SE Asia could buy a young girl for $8,000 and trick her out to the tune of nearly $200,000 per year - this sort of profit has of course put the criminals into a frenzy of greed.
It will be interesting to see the US politicians respond to this problem when American girls start disappearing from the streets and turning up in the sex industries - if they respond like they have to other crimes, the only possible course of action will be to OUTLAW WOMEN....
