Matthew attempted to keep his family hidden and he called 911 to report what was happening. The ruse did not work and the hidden family was discovered, robbed of a large sum of money and left with their vehicle, back across the border. The event occurred inside the state of California , which meant, the victims did not have weapons with which to defend themselves. Flash stated that had this happened in Arizona , perhaps the incident would have a different ending. We heard that a comment from Matthew was “This was worse than Iraq , at least there we get to shoot back!”
