Building a wall at the border

I am trying to figure out why we are not building a wall at the Mexican Border. What is the argument against it? Why would anyone oppose such a measure? I am not saying we close our borders, just try and manage who comes across (a little better than we are now). I just can not imagine any reason why this is not being done.

Anyone have any reasonable answers to this?
