The Drinking Issue will be around for awhile on this one........

The issue of drinking and using a firearm is alarming.........Cheney admitted to having a beer at lunch......no problem - but there's an old axiom about booze and guns - when the booze comes out - the guns go away FOR THAT DAY! My neighbor, who was a Special Forces Medic in Nam, is now an emergency room surgeon - and he reminded me something about hunting accidents.......

1. Those that occur before 10:00 usually are carelessness and or age related - after Noon are very often a result of Booze!

I'm not saying that this one was - but Cheney did admit to drinking at lunch - and now the allegations will haunt him about this.....Look nobody here will ever know......and we've all done dumb things....but I do feel sorry for him - this was an accident..but it will be used by his political enemies - they could have largely avoided this by him having a press conference immediately. In today's interview he mentioned that he'd handle it the same if he had it to do over again. I think that is a mistake..

Now rumors regarding the drinking are such now that folks are saying that's why Cheney didn't go to the hospital and they waited 24 hours to have the sheriff interview him. Probably just food for rumor - BUT - nobody here would make such a similar rumor about a liberal would they???? Remember what goes around comes around and these guys are big boys. This is called dirty politics!
