Harry Reed has stepped forward and claimed "America can do better". Now we all want to do better but without out a starting point what is better? So in light of the new "more civil" attitude I shall lay out the current state so we can "in a more civil" fashion see if they actual hold true to their promises.

The current unemployment rate is 4.4 %

Deficit spending is on the decline, it is currently half what it was just 3 years ago, if this path is continued then it should be almost at zero by the time the 2008 elections arrive.

Wages are up and "Overall, most Americans enjoy a higher standard of living today than they did a generation ago or even a decade ago."
The stock market is at an all time high and the economy is strong and still growing.
Interest rates are still near all time lows
The Socialist also claim they will lower healthcare cost while cutting back runaway spending......
In order to "do better" these current levels must be eclipsed, they certainly can't go backwards and be an improvement.
They have stepped into the spending drivers seat and the numbers will tell the tale......................wives tale that is.
I welcome the coming of 3% unemployment, lower interest rates, even higher wages and lower cost of living they have now boadly promised.
Obviously as well, I should expect from the Socialist leadership in Congress that the war on terror should be over by 2008 and we should certainly have a peaceful Iraq and all the troops home with a world at peace. No doubt we will finally decern the fate of Osama as well and if he is alive he will be in a US prison somewhere enjoying penya calata's and discussing his next legal move with his bevy of lawyers paid for by the US tax payers.
All will not be perfect just better than it is now.................
