Uncle Sam Opens His (Your) Wallet to Subsidize Digital TV

Interesting report on government involvement in yet another commercial enterprise. The programming that is delivered into your skull by the Holy Television is critical to maintenance of the illusion that allows the 2-party system to continue, therefore the 2-party system must subsidize the digital converters to ensure that the programming keeps flowing to all.

coupons from the government to help you make the transition into digital broadcasting.

The coupons will help pay for special converter boxes that will
convert digital signals to old-style analog signals. Beginning February 18th, 2009, anyone who does not own a digital set and still gets their programming using over-the-air antennas will no longer receive a picture.
