Does Average IQ of a Nation's Citizens Matter?
This is a very simple question, but one that might have some importance in the endless competition of life.
I have attached below a couple of images from an interesting Wikipedia on a controversial work on the subject. The data presented by the authors is quite interesting, for they show that IQ and "global inequity" seem to be strongly correlated, i.e. nations with high average IQs tend to provide better living conditions than nations with low average IQs.
IQ and Global Inequality - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
These are the same authors by the way who wrote the also controversial "IQ and the Wealth of Nations" book a few years back. An interesting graph is attached which highlights the findings in that book, specifically that as average IQ increases so does the GDP per capita.
If one concludes that the IQ of a nation's citizens is important, what is the logical consequence of the USA's decision in 1965 to end immigration policy favoring 1st world immigration and instead increase 3rd world immigration? Will the average IQ go up, or down?
