I was driving my semi into the mill when one of the other drivers whom I had long ago turned into a C to C as well as Ron Paul fan hollers at me on the CB that Dr. Paul is on the air!
It was really great listening to him for an hour. The man is so smart and honest! I listened very hard to his responses from callers; you never know what they will ask; and some were really off-the-wall.
I remembered reading here how some thought one of his weaknesses was a lack of a polished oratory style and ability to debate on the fly.
Not true. He was very composed and quick. Even when one guy asked him how he thought he was perceived by normal people being as how so many of his supporters listened to C to C and, therefore, must be wackos who believed in UFO's, aliens, and ghosts.
(What an idiot question!)
Completely unruffled, Dr. Paul explained how he firmly believed in anybody's right to believe in anything they wished, so long as it did not hurt other people. "Religion, for example, would definitely fall into that category."
And just because some of his supporters might believe in something, does not necessarily mean he also believes in it, though he might,
or appreciates their support any less.
Spoken like a man who has his own deeply held personal beliefs. I'd give alot to hear the other candidates take THAT question out of left field!
I still find UFO's and aliens alot more believable than Obama or Clinton or the ignorant and biased "mainstream" media anyway...
Great show. He could have done himself a big favor and stayed for the additional hours he was invited to, though. That IS the single most-listened-to radio program around the world at night and he is a huge favorite of many of the listeners and of the knowledgeable guests (it isn't always ghosts and aliens... they break more news and cover more science WAY ahead of the rest of the media than anybody else).
He is treated with more respect there than anywhere I have ever heard or seen him.
Hopefully, he will be back soon and repeatedly! He has a standing invitation and that show is known for being apolitical, so that's a rare thing.
Oh, George Noory, the host, asked him point blank about the IRS and what would he do with it? "GET RID OF IT!" was the immediate response followed by an expalnation of why they are not needed or perhaps even legal, "though they do currently have more guns than we do"!
Gotta love him!
Edit: You can go here and listen to it. See how much I remember right (I was in and out of my truck several times). Just click on "last night's show" in the upper left column:
