Were McCain and Keating ever married?

Of course, I really don't think that McCain is gay, but...

Why would John McCain simply ASSUME that Charles Keating would not want to be listed as a member of McCain's Finanace Committee?

And WHY would Charles Keating say "Don't be silly...I'm yours till death do us part"??

Just curious.
