...against ALL enemies; foreign and domestic.
I think this is what it must feel like to be invaded and occupied by an enemy state...
To pick up the paper and read how your country's traitorous leaders have unconditionally surrendered to a foreign enemy to save their own skins and even profit from it.
To learn that your Constitution has been burned along with your Flag. To be under martial law and dictator rule... you have no rights. You MUST comply. What once was yours is no longer.
Denial. Anger. Frustration. Your very thoughts can constitute a crime.
The 'news' is strictly controlled. The Truth is not in it. You need permission to do the most routine and mundane things. Everywhere you turn, your ears are assaulted with foreign language. Everywhere you look, posters of the new dictator confront you. Mass brainwashing. Soma...
Defending against all enemies is one thing. Empty, hollow words apparently. A quaint and noble fantasy.
Recognizing the real ones in time is apparently the tricky part...
Our Constitution died the day the patriot act was passed, didn't it? The terrorists, if there really ever were any, won a much greater victory over us by getting us to surrender our Liberty than we will ever hope to win over them.
Now is just phase II: Organization and unveiling of the invasion and occupation... the enemy was within the whole time.
