Fellas,
It's time for me to end my involvement in this forum for a while. I admit I've become addicted to TDR and this forum over these past months because I'm separated for a short time from my wife and kids due to work commitments, and had some extra time on my hands. But lately the exchanges on here have gotten toxic. I know I bear some of the responsibility for that, but this has reached the point where it just isn't fun lately, and there are much more effective ways I can be using my free time.
There's too much negativity and doom and gloom here for me, and it's getting too depressing. Things are bad out there, I know that. My guy didn't get elected President. But I do believe this nation will survive both this bad economy and this President. I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories (and yes I even make fun of them) or apocalyptic doom and gloom junk. I am not ultra right wing, and that puts me in a definite minority in this forum. My own poll from a few weeks ago proved that. I'm a Republican...Conservative on some issues, Moderate on others. I'm in the center on most things, to the hard right on a few. Admittedly, not smart enough on a few more issues to be either way. Whatever it is, it sure seems to ruffle a lot of feathers in here.
What were fun, high-spirited spirited political discussions have lately turned into personal tirades that have nothing to do with politics, or even good sportsmanship. Now people are getting into ignore lists and other high school crap. Come on. We're all adults here.
TDR is a keeper...best truck site on the web and a great resource for helping me get the most enjoyment and use out of my truck...the magazine is great. While I get caught up with papers, exams, and getting ready for graduation I think I'll just stick with the 6.7, RV, and other non-political forums for the time being and keep the TDR time to a minimum.
I apologize if my comments, opinions and challenges have offended anyone or hurt any feelings. Many of you are great to chat with...and no comment on the others. Godspeed to every one of you and hope you ride out this economic crisis in good shape and enjoy your well deserved retirements...and enjoy your Cummins Turbo Diesels while the fuel prices remain cheap (who knows how long that will last--oil is almost back up to $50 a barrel)!
Just need to chill out on this forum for a while and focus on other things.
All the best,
Yooper67
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
