NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police hope you'll be seeing a little more plastic at Nashville bars soon.

Police have asked bar owners to serve plastic bottles instead of glass bottles due to safety.

They said there has been an average of about 7 assaults a week downtown. The majority of those involve glass bottles as the weapon.

Police are just suggesting bar owners adopt plastic. If the problem continues, they said they would try to get the city council involved to pass an ordinance.
