Beers, Guns and frisking with the President

Here's a question for you guys. The Sgt met with Obama and the Prof. today for their beer. Did the Sgt. have to turn over his weapon? When Clinton was still President and moved into my area he occasionally went to his local diner. One day when he wanted to go inside for a bite the SS enterd the diner and announced Clintons intention to join them but they had to search everyone. There was 1 or 2 off duty local cops eating and they identified themselves as such and advised the SS they were armed. The SS told the they would have to turn over their firearms. They refused and ultimately left because they didn't want to get into a pissing match with the SS especially in front of the residents they worked for. What do you guys think regarding the cops and also the civillians who were already there. Be searched or leave in the middle of your meal.
