Question about 315's on stock rims?

With all the recent discussions on oversize tires I have a quick question.
I am currently running 285-75R16s (about 33" tires) and want to go to a taller tire with my stock rims. The reasons for the taller tire is my 4.10 rear end handicap.

From what I understand my stock rims are 16x6.5 and most of the 315-75R16s are not reccomended for anything less than an eight inch wide rim?

Is there a taller (34 -35" in dia) 16" tire that is not as wide as the 315-75R16 that would fit my stock 6.5" rims?
