In-bed spare fastening?

I'm thinking of carrying my spare in the bed. I have a camper shell, so security isn't an issue (at least I hope it isn't...). But I'd like to secure it to the side rail, with some sort of clamp and bolt arrangement. I had the thought of trying to rig some sort of bolt-hook and nut-washer arrangement. Perhaps to some sort of c-clamp, like those that clamp my camper shell to the bedrail?

Has anyone done this? Can you offer suggestions? What sort of hardware do I need to search for? Does anyone know of a product on the market for this?
