Westach trans temp guage failed

My westach trans temp guage has become more and more intermitent. It started a couple months after install...it would stop working on occaision and now it hardly works at all. I checked the wiring and it's all good. I don't know how to check the sending unit. I'm going to call westach tomorrow and ask them...maybe they'll send me a new one...any thoughts?
