Turbo Damage with egt thermocouple?

Is there any chance of damaging the turbo from the metal shavings produced when the thermocouple hole is drilled and tapped?

Also, does anyone know if installing a Juice box leaves a tell, tell sign that it was installed after it is removed? My friend has an 02 model that required breaking a seal of some sort that stated "if this seal is broken or missing, warrant voided, etc.,"
