US Gear D-Celerator (E-Brake) mod question

I just scored the subject exhaust brake off ebay without the electronic parts. I cleaned it and put power on the solenoid and it works fine.

What I'd like to do is (using relays and whatever else is required) make it work with a gearsplitter type push/pull switch mounted on the shifter. From reading I've learned the pull on switch only needs to be energized for a couple of seconds then the hold on switch should come on. One poster stated max load was 30 amps, another said 60 amps?

I'm thinking that if I knew squat about electronics a trip to Radio Shack and I'd be in business. Anyone attempted this, or know how.
