fass pump help! diesel dan

hello

I am running a fass pump on a 2004 dodge cummins that is running vegoil blend the pump will run 14 to 17 lbs running down the road the temp of the fuel is running from 75 degs and 120 degs I am on a road trip and what has got my mind working is that about 80 miles in to the trip the pump started losing pressure I have spa gauges that I can change the time that it reads the psi its set to take a reading every 1.5 sec and display the reading it has an alarm on it if if goes lower tha 5 psi.the first time it did the low psi I was running at 80 mph and the engine was turing 1800 rpm it did it only for about 10 miles and then it started to build pressure then it ran ok for about 15 min

then started doing it again this time it was much worse it was running at a neg psi for 8 to 10 miles as low as -20 psi the gauge is hooked up 6 inches from the ip pump I have seen this gauge do this when the lift pump died on me before this is a different pump the one that went out was a stock one.
the engine started to surge like it was running out of fuel and I really thought it was going to die but it did not it started to build pressure and then came back to normal but if I tryed to go faster the psi would falloff and if I slowed down the psi would build.

we stoped for lunch and got back on the road the engine ran the rest of the day with no problems the pump is running any where from 15 psi to 10 psi and this is at the same speed and temp as before

the fuel tank is new and it is heated the fass pump is about 9 months old but was just in for a motor and had new wareplates installed this was from a lack of fuel from trying to suck the fuel thru a stock (dead) lift pump. the pump is heated also model is a 150/150-1005 I think dont have the paper work with me. the filters are newer they have about 2400 miles on them I change the filters at the same time I change engine oil at 3000 miles I do the because of the vegoil is a lot harder on the filters than diesel is. the fuel blend is filtered thru a 5 micron sock filter for 24 hrs or more so i dont think this is a fuel problem and with the heat the fuel is thiner than it would be if it was cold.

any help on this would be nice and any thoughts would also be helpful

thanks for your help
