Bad thermocouple?
A coworker of mine installed a SPA Design Dual pyro and boost gauge on his 2000 ETC 5 speed last week.
ADDED ON EDIT: he has 275 injectors and a straight pipe. He called me today and asked me why he's getting 1100 F* EGTs as soon as the gauge comes online(with the engine off), if he leaves the key in that position the EGT will move up and down around 1100-1300(again with the engine off)...turn the engine over and at idle the gauge climbs to 1500 goes all over from 1500-1600...
I went over there and we reset the gauge...zero pressure...cycled the ignition over again...and once again before starting it the EGT was at 1100-1200 and once again after starting it idled at 1500-1600
Bad thermocouple?
any ideas?
Thanks in advance
